This backyard faces west but is stepped down to take advantage of the southern exposure.
Four walls of treated rail ties were rotting and were replaced with stacked stone walls.
The existing rail tie steps were still in good condition so were left as is.
On the left of the stepped down garden was the original stone stone steps that were buried under soil. These had to be dug out, cleaned and reset as required.
The result is a pleasing stepped garden with stone retaining walls that reflect the midday sun.
